2025 May Fredrick Half (from memory)

60 degrees - light rain Singlet Puma Fast-R 3. Took a big risk given I just got the shoes a week earlier and had only a track session in them. Path Shorts 1 flask No fueling issues.   No issues with water.   Watch speed was several seconds per mile slow. Had to undo the watch calibration back closer to 1.0 after the race. Generally felt good throughout the race. Shins started hurting at mile 7.  Was able to manage. Rain was light after the first mile of the race. It helped keep things cool.  The last 1-2 miles were a bit difficult (this included the up hill at the end).

2025 Aug CO Trip (Vacation)

Memorable Moments: Tire pressure warning for only one tire at the top of the Rocky Mountains when starting the drive down.  25 lbs. of pressure vs. 40 on the other tires. Kept watching the pressure. Got to the bottom and filled up with air. Held the rest of the trip. Reminded me of us getting a flat tire while on the way to the Grand Canyon. Now that was drama. Elk in the middle of Estes Park downtown wandering around (in the middle and across a major highway). Jess not making it to the end of the zip line at Royal Gorge (likely due to wind). An attendant had to go out on the line and pull her the rest of the way in. Getting delayed on highway 25 multiple times due to accidents, rain, and a train. Google detoured us once on on a dirt path, then we hit a coal train. It was kind of funny after a bit. A 1.5 hour trip took 2.5 hours. Losing power at the Hotel on the last day at 10:00am (we were warned the night before). Jess had to walk up to flights of stairs. Fortunately, ...

B&A Half March 2025

60 degrees - overcast Singlet Vaporfly 1 Path Shorts 5 gels, used only 4 1 flask No fueling issues.   No issues with water.  Had over 1/4 left. Thought was on pace per the watch.  In the end, was 6 secs off based on the watch (7:21 vs. 7:27). Felt good throughout the race.  Manageable, not like the marathon in the fall. Hill was difficult, but manageable. Miles after the hill was significantly better than the prior run on this course.   Think I could have paced at the actual target of 7:21. Reset watch from 1.041 to 1.0 calibration.

Switched to gloves only by 3rd mile. Took off arm warmers by 3rd mile. Didn't feel cold until mile 24.   No fueling issues except could have used a bit more fuel in mile 25.  Flask made fuel a bit short. No issues with water.  Just enough by end. Horrible after mile 14.  Cold did seem to impact me. Might have gone out just a bit fast.
