B&A Half March 2025

 60 degrees - overcast

Singlet

Vaporfly 1

Path Shorts

5 gels, used only 4

1 flask

No fueling issues.

No issues with water.  Had over 1/4 left.

Thought was on pace per the watch.  In the end, was 6 secs off based on the watch (7:21 vs. 7:27).

Felt good throughout the race.  Manageable, not like the marathon in the fall.

Hill was difficult, but manageable.

Miles after the hill was significantly better than the prior run on this course.

Think I could have paced at the actual target of 7:21.

Reset watch from 1.041 to 1.0 calibration.

Current Shoes (Sept 2019)

Currently Recommended for Different Uses, If I had to Pick One Today for Each Use (Sept. 2019): Races - Vaporfly Next% Tempo, Interval - Vaporfly 4%, Carbon X Hills - Razor 3, New Balance Rebel Easy, Long - New Balance 1080 v9 All Around - New Balance Beacon, New Balance Rebel Other Shoes: Adidas Prime Parley  - Will use on treadmill. Reebok Sweet Road 2  - On hold for use after RA 2. Reebok Floatride Forever Energy  - Will rotate them in after Beacon. Reebok Floatride Run Fast  - Ran in them recently, and they really feel like a racing flat.  I don't get as much feedback from them at paces above 9 min/mile. That said, as I increased my pace (i.e., faster), the shoes started responding better.   Salomon Sonic RA 2  - Surprisingly nice shoe.  It is a bit long.  Will have to test to see if can be a long run shoe.  Picked up on ebay for $48, what a deal.  Starting rotating this shoe in as I start decreasing the ...

Clothing at different temperatures

40 - gloves, shirt, arm warmers, 3/4 tights.  Vest/Jacket for chill 35 - gloves, shirt, arm warmers 3/4 tights.  Vest/Jacket for chill 30 - 250 merino wool top and heavy weight pants (asics)  Too hot. 30 - t-shirt, arm warmers, full length tights, merino wool gloves.  Probably needed to keep the vest and extra layer gloves (getting code on top at the end). 25 - merino wool top, tights, jacket.

March 2022 Shoes

Testing: Adidas Adios Adizero Pro 2 -  Not a bad shoe.  Have to try a longer distances. Puma Deviate Nitro Elite - Nice.  Feels like lower drop than 8mm.  Not sure I can take longer distances. Saucony Ride 15 - First run was pretty firm.  Likely won't try again till after Boston. In Rotation: Brooks Aurora-BL - Just purchased as an alternative to the Maxroad 5.  Transitions faster. New Balance RC Elite 2 - Nice, soft, long distance shoe. Soft enough to use for other runs. Nike Alphafly - Long run shoes.  Need to wear down.  Nike Vaporfly Next % 2 White/Pink - Training shoe now. Nike Vaporfly Next % Volt - Boston race shoe.  Salomon Sense Ride 2 - Like this over the Pegasus.  Firmer ride.  Better for trails. Saucony Endorphin Speed - Green. Current goto speed.  Almost retirement age. Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 - Blue. Starting in rotation. Saucony Endorphin Pro - Firmer than Vaporfly.  But not bad.  Probably won't take ...
