2020 Shoe Purchases (Rolling - January)

  • (1/5) Nike Pegasus 36 Trail - Have always wanted to try a trail shoe, but was pretty sure I didn't need one that could handle the technical trails in places like Colorado.  Focus on was on a hybrid shoe (road and trail), with potentially a GTX/Goretex liner.  My concern with GTX is heat.

2024 Nov 30 race

29 - 35 degrees Merino T-shirt Merino arm warmers Vaporfly Merino wool Ininji Path Projects Tights Path Shorts Smartwool gloves and Salomon mittens. 4 huma, 4 maurten gels.  Huma was in a flask. 1 flask Started with long-sleeve, took off by 3rd mile. Switched to gloves only by 3rd mile. Took off arm warmers by 3rd mile. Didn't feel cold until mile 24.   No fueling issues except could have used a bit more fuel in mile 25.  Flask made fuel a bit short. No issues with water.  Just enough by end. Horrible after mile 14.  Cold did seem to impact me. Might have gone out just a bit fast.
